Uganda is a top birding destination in Africa. Stationed at a plateau that separates the tropical rain forests of West Africa and the eastern dry savannahs, Uganda has only one endemic bird species but shares most of the African species due to the fact that it samples different African biomes. With the biggest fresh water lake in Africa and the rift valley lakes, Uganda has a good list of waterfowl as well as migrant species that winter from here.
The country also brags about the Albertine rift endemics which can easily be seen from here as well as the lowland species from central Africa. These have contributed much to the close to 1100 bird species in Uganda and this trip will sample you on some of the highlights.
